Pouring Machine
(1) Side-discharge Pouring Machine
After the steel billet is pushed to the discharge position by the pusher, the push rod of the pouring machine on the side of the furnace head extends into the furnace and pushes the steel billet to the discharge roller or inclined platform outside the furnace. To make the mechanism simple and ensure safe mechanical operation, the push rod of the pouring machine generally adopts the friction roller transmission method. When the thrust is large, both upper and lower friction rollers are driven simultaneously; when the thrust is small, only the lower friction roller is driven. The push rod of the pouring machine is cooled by water.
(1) The thrust of the pouring machine is generally equal to the mass of the steel billet being pushed out. For small steel billets, it is possible that two steel billets fall into the pouring trough at the same time or overheat and bond. The thrust should be considered for two steel billets.
(2) The pushing speed of the pouring machine should meet the requirements of the rolling cycle. The pushing speed is generally taken as 0.5 to 1.5 m/s.
(3) The push stroke of the pouring machine should be determined according to the length of the steel billet and the width of the furnace. When the discharge port is very close to the first machine frame of the rolling mill or there is a dedicated discharge roller or inclined platform outside the discharge furnace, as long as the steel billet is engaged in the rolling mill or pushed onto the discharge roller or inclined platform, the push stroke does not need to be considered as pushing the entire length of the steel billet out of the furnace.
